Wind won’t blow away our fun.

Wind won’t blow away our fun.

I woke up today to the sound of giggles coming through the baby monitor and wind rattling the house. Baby R woke up on the right side of the crib which was a huge relief because we had big plans. We were going to the Estevan Family Resource Centre to get out of this wind.

I woke up today to the sound of giggles coming through the baby monitor and wind rattling the house. Baby R woke up on the right side of the crib which was a huge relief because we had big plans. We were going to the Estevan Family Resource Centre to get out of this wind.

The Centre, as is is referred to by us locals, is a place to bring your kids to play, to learn, to experience, to socialize. It is also a place for us parents to learn, to play, to experience, to socialize. We all know we NEED that time.

When we walked in the door we walked into the fun zone. Different “stations” all over the room. Kids pretending to be Doctors to teddy bears, going to grocery stores, being firemen, reading books in cozy corners, building the Eiffel Tower, fixing their hot rod, the list goes on and on and it is ever changing.

I was excited to see “R” play with other kids, potentially meeting his future wife, maybe choosing a career in archaeology. He sat and observed for awhile what was happening. I sat in one of the chairs and drank a much needed coffee. Soon, he left my side and fell into a world that I got to experience through his eyes.

We had so much fun. Sometimes us parents needs to take a moment and really see what your child sees, play and enjoy. The Estevan Family Resource Centre helps with that.

Get out there and Experience Estevan,
Becky
