Affinity Place

About Us

Affinity Place is a Multi-Purpose Entertainment and Sports Facility located in Estevan, Saskatchewan. It is owned and operated by the City of Estevan Leisure Services Division.

Affinity Place opened its doors on April 15, 2011, with an official Grand Opening event featuring Tom Cochrane and Kim Mitchell. Affinity Place opened after two years of construction. Individuals and businesses throughout Estevan and Area showed their support behind the facility by raising $8 million of the $22 million total costs.

Affinity Place was built to supplement the two other ageing ice surfaces in Estevan (Civic Auditorium & Lignite Miners Centre).

Home to the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the Midget AAA Estevan Bears, the facility also hosts concerts, trade shows, mixed martial arts, minor hockey, meetings, banquets and other significant events.

Features

  • Four-sided video scoreboard, each high definition screen is five feet tall and eight feet wide, capable of video replays and live feeds from any event within Affinity Place.
  • State of the art sound system throughout Affinity Place
  • Sound baffles hanging from the roof to prevent sound echoing for concerts and other events.
  • Flooring system that lays over the ice surface for events
  • Walking/Running track that encompasses the concourse level of the venue, which is 216 meters.
  • 8 large dressing rooms
  • Energy-efficient design and operating systems
  • 2,200 seats in the lower bowl, 60 person lounge, 1400 plus floor seats, two press boxes, and 24 private corporate suites
  • Unique glass holding system that eliminates the lip on the dasher boards, the glass sits almost flush with the edge of the boards

Rentals And Service

The Venue

Affinity Place opened its doors in 2011. It is located in Southeastern Saskatchewan and accessible to spectators from all over Saskatchewan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and Southwestern Manitoba. It is 20 minutes from a 24-hour international border crossing at North Portal on Highway 39. It is situated in the same facility as the Estevan Leisure Centre that is home to the Estevan Library, Estevan Aquatic Centre, Squash Courts, Multi Purpose Room (Gymnasium), Power Dodge Ice Centre, fitness room and is home to the Estevan Bruins. Affinity Place has free onsite parking for over 400 vehicles.

Events that are held within the facility consist of; The SJHL, Estevan Bruins Hockey games, Savour the Southeast tasting tradeshow, Rotary Lobster fest, St Joseph’s Hospital Festival of Trees and much more. The facility is a full-blown event Centre that has the capability of covering the ice surface in a short period for multi-uses.

The facility is surrounded by a rubberized walking track that is FREE and opens 7 days a week for those who would like to walk in a heat control environment.

  • 8 dressing rooms are located on the arena level. Full shower facilities and 2 toilets in each room. 23’4” x 12’8”
  • Referee rooms include a full shower and one toilet. 14’10” x 8’10”
  • Rigging; 8 roof frames. Please contact the Events Manager for more specifications on rigging.

Event Marketing

We help market your event! You will have a presence on our website from the time your show is announced until the date of the show. We will link and promote wherever guests can purchase tickets. Your event will be promoted on social media and on our electronic billboard outside the facility.

Rates are based on set up, equipment usage, take down, etc. Rates are determined on a case by case basis.Request a quote now.

Catering

Full-service catering is available on site.  We take pride in providing outstanding meals individualized to your preference. Most of the dishes served by our caterer are homemade dishes.  Menus will be developed to meet all dietary needs and tastes.  Tour catering is typically served in dressing rooms 2 & 3 but can be moved upon request to another location.

Full range from soup and sandwich to prime rib dinner. Service can be buffet or plated.  Rates are determined on a case by case basis. Request a quote now.

Sky Box Suites

Each Sky Box seats 10 people, each has its own equipment. Beverages and Food menu may be served on request.
